INFO:
This is a round trip that requires the participants to manage four days by bike. There are varying degrees of difficulty, so you get the opportunity for recovery along the way.
Nevertheless, it is important to point out that this is not a beginner’s trip. You must have managed four to five miles on a hiking day before, or be sure that you can handle it.

Day 1: Arrival Toftemo

Welcome to Dovre. Feel free to come by train. Toftemo is 12 km south of Dombås station. If you still want to come by car, it can be left at Toftemo while we are on tour. Dinner is ready for you at 19. After dinner we meet to review the trip.

Day 2: Toftemo – Furuhaugli, 32 km

Our first day of hiking goes along the valley side to Dombås. Here we pass many places that have influenced Norway’s history. At Dombås we take a break to refill stomachs and possibly other equipment before we climb up to Dovrefjell. This stretch is the heaviest on the trip. Today’s goal is Furuhaugli Turisthytter in good time to relax before a 3-course dinner.

Day 3: Furuhaugli – Hjerkinn Fjellstue, 20 km

This is a quiet day with a very affordable stage. We will enjoy nature and visit a few places along the way. During the day we will also get more insight into old and new hunting culture when we visit the Norwegian Wild Reindeer Center North. After we have arrived at Hjerkinn Fjellstue, there is a good opportunity to explore the local area on your own or recharge for a longer stage the next day. We gather in the evening for dinner together.

Day 4: Hjerkinn Fjellstue – Grimsdalshytta, 59 km

We start the day with an easy stretch to Folldal. Here we will visit Folldal Mines before cycling towards Norway’s finest mountain valley. Rondane is clearly visible in the south when we cycle along gravel roads with many old farmhouses on the valley side. At Grimsdalshytta we have a good view of the valley in the middle between two national parks. We gather in the evening for dinner together.

Day 5: Grimsdalshytta – Toftemo, 32 km

On the last day we first roll down to the valley floor and visit Barthbue before we continue over Grimsdalen where it changes character. At the end of the valley we stop at a viewpoint. Then we continue on the plateau until it descends. Then wait almost 10 kilometers downhill to Dovre center and Toftemo Tourist Station.
