For those of you who have recently had an amputation
Information for you who have recently had an amputation or your relatives
The text on these pages is based on the text in the brochure. “To you who are amputated and relatives”
Challenging for relatives as well
Also for you as a relative, there is a lot of new to relate to. At first you may think that everything is chaos and that it is experienced as unreal. After this, you may react with impotence, emptiness, anger and a wealth of emotions can roll over. It’s not unnatural.
The important rehabilitation
The goal of rehabilitation is to make you – whether you are amputated or a relative – feel like a whole person again, and to be safe and happy. Of course, this requires a lot of yourself, but there are also many others who are ready to help you. Thus, it is important that you are open to advice and help from others, both from your closest, different types of professionals and people who have been through the same thing as you.
Amputation is tough for most people
It is possible to grow as a human being despite adversity and difficulties.
Having to amputate most people finds it very tough, but eventually you will find that it becomes easier to cope for you and your loved ones.
We at Momentum have experienced the same as you and yours – we are equals and would like to help you to be able to put grief and loss behind you, find the joy of life again and look forward to a better everyday life – because it will come .

The information is made by prosthesis users and relatives with the assistance of health professionals so that you can benefit from tips, advice and experiences that we have made ourselves.
As experienced prosthesis users and relatives, we are ready to contribute through visits and conversations. By exchanging experiences, there is a lot of inspiration to be gained.
