Meet an equal

Like helps like – one to exchange experiences with.

Peers are people who have been amputated due to an accident, illness or other reasons, or were born without an arm / leg.

Peers have a valuable experience that can be positive to share with others.

We have put this into a system and the fact that equals help equals is what we call peer work.

What can we offer?

We want to help and inspire. Equals are people who are themselves amputated or born without arms or legs. The peers have processed their own history, and which on a voluntary basis is available to other users and relatives who wish to do so.

We can be a supporter in a difficult time based on experiences in similar situations. You can talk to us about what life will be like as a prosthesis user and practical and emotional challenges. We have experienced that emotions and reactions can change over time. We can be a good listener, help you look at opportunities, show you where you can get advice and help.

Peers in Momentum are experienced, have completed courses and have taken a vow of confidentiality. We try to be of help and inspiration to all amputees regardless of phase. We have extensive experience with newly operated and established prosthesis users, as well as relatives who in one way or another want to learn more, move on or simply want to talk to someone who is in the same situation.

Momentum peers can:

  • Meet you at the hospital
  • Come home to you
  • Participate in group discussions
  • Meet you with your relatives
  • Talk to you on the phone, facetime or other social media.

Momentum also has its own relatives contacts – let us know in the form if you are a relative and want to meet someone in the same situation

If you have any questions, call Momentum on tel. 40 00 43 60, or send an e-mail to
